Weihnachtsstimmung war spürbar, wie die folgenden Impressionen zeigen. Beim Yoga vor der Weihnachtspause wurde Jingle Bells gespielt und auch sonst war gute Laune angesagt.
Das Weihnachtsfest mit Harrys Familie war toll. Die Sonne schien und Harrys Familie liebt Weihnachten. In Australien findet traditionell ein Weihnachts-Lunch statt. Gestartet wurde um 11.30 Uhr mit Apero. Im Anschluss gab es ein Festmahl mit Truthahn, Honig-glasiertem Schinken, frischem Fisch und verschiedenen Salaten. Vom 25. – 29. Dezember fuhren wir zum Strandhaus in Philip Island, gemeinsam mit Magdalena, einer Freundin aus Basel, Harrys Eltern und Grossmutter. Die letzten Tage vor dem neuen Jahr waren voller Langsamkeit, Ruhe und Pause und luden ein zum Reflektieren. Nach 11 unglaublich vollen Monaten mit vielen Emotionen, Hochs und Tiefs, hatte ich die innere Ruhe, mich zu erholen und mir Zeit zu nehmen, über das doch sehr anstrengende Jahr zu reflektieren und zu überlegen, was davon ich ins 2024 mitnehmen will und was ich im 2023 zurücklasse. Das tat mir sehr gut.
Harry’s Senf
Some family time in December warmed my heart. A friendly reminder of a key motivation for leaving so much behind. That’s a tad dramatic. It’s not that I feel that we’ve left anything behind per se, rather we’re going a different route than if we stayed. The experiences are in our backpacks of life, and we can build off them anywhere. Love that. Growth.
Watching Miller grow in front of our eyes has been cool. He enjoyed the fish at the Christmas table. Nanna preferred the champagne. Admittedly, the rest of us too. It’s the best time of year. We come together, gift each other presents and eat. It feels like each year we can laugh at ourselves just a tad more. On a quick trip to the island, we play games on the grass, sounds of the ocean not too far away, read and relax. Life’s a holiday.
